Each week, this newsletter will keep families informed about important dates, school activities, and special opportunities for students. Our goal is to ensure you have all the details you need to support your child’s learning and engagement on campus. Stay tuned and stay involved as we soar through another fantastic week together!

Important Upcoming Dates

March 31st - April 2nd - 7th and 8th Grade Washington DC Field Trip

April 2nd - K-5 Field Day (see below for schedule)

April 3rd - No School; Holiday

April 6th - No School; Teacher Work Day

April 8th - Spring Picture Day (K-5)

April 11th - PTO Dances (K-2 at 3 pm; 3-5 at 6 pm)

Field Day 2026 is Coming! 🎉

We are excited for K-5 Field Day on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026! This is always a favorite event for our students, filled with fun activities, teamwork, and lots of outdoor excitement.

Event Schedule:

8:30 AM – 10:30 AM: Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM: 3rd – 5th Grade

To help your child have a safe and enjoyable experience, please review the following reminders:

👟 Dress for Success

Students must wear closed-toe running shoes (no sandals, flip-flops, or Crocs).
Choose cool, comfortable clothing suitable for active play.
We recommend packing an extra dry shirt in your child’s bag.

💧 Stay Hydrated

Please send a water bottle labeled with your child’s name.

☀️ Be Sun Safe

Students may bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses (optional but encouraged).

Field Day is a wonderful opportunity for students to stay active, build friendships, and celebrate the school year together. We can’t wait to see everyone out on the field for a day full of fun!

Join us for a magical journey across the ocean as our talented students bring Moana Jr. to life on stage!

Come support these amazing performers and enjoy an unforgettable show filled with music, adventure, and heart.

Free Anthem Rugby Tickets

Our friends with Anthem Rugby Charlotte, who visited our PE classes last month, have invited our students to attend a home game free of charge. If your family is interested in attending, see Coach Cherry regarding STUDENT tickets. (adult tickets are only $10).

The home schedule includes the following dates: 4/4, 4/12, 4/18, 5/23, 5/31. Games are played at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration is approaching, and we are excited to welcome our newest learners!

Children who will be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2026 are eligible to register for kindergarten for the upcoming school year.

Families are encouraged to visit the CCS Kindergarten Registration webpage for complete information about the registration process, including a list of required documents to bring when registering.

For Kindergarten Registration, please call to make an appointment to register your student.

If you have a child who will be eligible for kindergarten, we look forward to meeting your family and assisting you with registration. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the school with any questions.

Girl Scouts Hornets’ Nest is hosting a fun and empowering fitness event for girls ages 8–12 and their caregivers — and you’re invited!

Join us for Strong Like a Girl: A Girl Scout Experience with Elevate Fitness as girls build strength and confidence through exciting, coach-led fitness challenges in a friendship-focused environment.
